Microblading FAQs

  • Microblading is a modern form of permanent cosmetics in which the technician uses a handheld tool to create hyper-realistic hair strokes manually. While microblading is a permanent service, results typically last 1-3 years, depending on skin type and aftercare compliance.

  • The healing process typically takes a full 4-6 weeks. Minor swelling and irritation are normal, and the brows will appear darker than usual for 2-5 days. It is normal for the color to flake off and appear softer and less visible during the healing process, but the pigment will reappear in the following days.

  • Here’s how to prepare for microblading: for the 24-48 hours before your appointment, please be sure to avoid blood thinners, alcohol, ibuprofen, and any other pain relievers. Caffeine consumption on the day of the procedure may increase discomfort levels and blood flow.

Avoid using Retin-A or taking fish oil for the 10 days leading up to your appointment. If you’ve had Botox administered within 3 weeks of your appointment, you must reschedule.

Exercising before the brows are completely done flaking will negatively impact your final results. Finally, I advise against having your brows done before a vacation.

  • While everyone's pain tolerance varies, I use two potent numbing agents on my clients. First, we numb the area with a topical cream. Then, I administer a second numbing agent throughout the treatment itself. My past clients have described the pain as a 1 on a scale of 10.

  • Proper aftercare will save your pigment from fading. Typically, microblading lasts between 1-3 years. However, your results can be affected by harsh topical skin products o treatments, unprotected UV exposure, and improper aftercare.

Facial FAQs

  • You are welcome to come just as you are. Because a facial's primary objective is to cleanse and treat your skin, we must remove any makeup before we start. If you’d like to save a few minutes, show up to your appointment with a clean, makeup-free face.

  • There are a few major benefits of facials, especially if you get them regularly. First, facials help cleanse and exfoliate the skin, removing dead skin cells, dirt, and excess oil, which can clog pores and lead to breakouts or dull skin. Facials also promote circulation and stimulate collagen production, leading to firmer and more youthful-looking skin.

Plus, facials can address specific skin concerns, such as dryness, redness, fine lines, or hyperpigmentation, with different techniques and products. Regular facials can help to maintain skin health and prevent premature aging, making them an excellent investment in your future face. Finally, my facials allow extended relaxation and stress relief because each one involves a deeply soothing massage.

  • Each of the facials includes a thorough cleaning, exfoliation, and the application of a face mask. However, the difference lies in the specialized products used in the treatment to help achieve your goals. Depending on the skin issues you’re experiencing, I may recommend a particular type of peel or another add-on like dermaplaning or microdermabrasion.

  • If possible, avoid wearing makeup immediately after getting a facial, as the skin needs time to heal and absorb the benefits of the treatment properly. Wearing makeup immediately after a facial can clog the pores and interfere with the healing process, potentially causing irritation, breakouts, or other skin issues. It is best to wait at least a few hours, or even better, until the next day, before applying makeup after a facial. If you do need to wear makeup directly after your facial, make sure it’s a gentle, non-comedogenic formula.

  • I offer light- to medium-depth peels, so they don’t typically hurt. Mild peels cause little to no pain, while medium peels sometimes produce slight discomfort and stinging sensations. After a peel, the skin may feel tight, but this usually subsides within a few hours to a day.

  • A chemical peel is a cosmetic resurfacing treatment that uses a chemical solution to exfoliate the skin, improving its texture and appearance. This type of treatment aims to stimulate the growth of new skin cells to leave the skin looking refreshed, rejuvenated, and radiant. Chemical peel benefits include fewer breakouts, a more radiant complexion, improvements to pigmentation issues like sun damage and hyperpigmentation, reduction in the appearance of scars, and fewer fine lines and wrinkles.
